Why Technical Employment Training is Different

COMPREHENSIVE CURRICULUM

TET delivers a comprehensive curriculum within 630 hours of intensive academic and hands-on instruction.

DIRECT BUSINESS & INDUSTRY LINKAGE

TET provides a direct and tangible Link to business where the machine shop is operated as a business. Industry partners bring real projects to TET to develop student proficiency and “on-the-job” skills.

NATIONAL CONFERRED CREDENTIALS

TET students gain hands-on experience in an operational business setting while provided the opportunity to earn industry-derived, nationally-recognized credentials in machine technology and advanced manufacturing.

IN-HOUSE PLACEMENT SERVICES

TET provides in-house job development and placement assistance to help students obtain permanent employment within the manufacturing trades industry.

About Technical Employment Training

Technical Employment Training (TET) is a 501c(3) nonprofit organization and education cooperative, in partnership with San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools Regional Occupational Program (SBCSSROP), to provide manufacturing trades education and hands on skills training.

Our Mission at TET is to offer education, training, and national certifications in career education, to a diverse group of learners who will be better prepared to enter the emerging job market for the 21st century.

Here at TET, we are more than a trade school. The students and instructors are co-located in a real world environment where the shop is operated as a business. Our students gain hands-on experience in an operational business setting while given the opportunity to earn nationally recognized credentials. Businesses bring real projects to TET where student proficiency is developed on-the-job.

Common questions prospective students have about Technical Employment Training.


The program consists of 630 hours split into two modules, with Module One serving as a prerequisite for Module Two.


TET currently offers a Manufacturing Hybrid Program with the following schedule:

  • Module One: In-person classes are held Monday through Wednesday, with remote learning on Thursday and Friday.
  • Module Two: Remote learning takes place on Monday and Tuesday, with in-person classes held Wednesday through Friday.

In-person classes run from 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM.


TET operates on a yearly calendar with open enrollment periods available every month.


TET provides job placement assistance to all graduates upon completion of the program and continues to offer support for up to two years.


TET’s tuition is currently set at $7,700.

The training at TET prepares you to start a career as a machinist in a variety of industries, including aerospace, medical, automotive, defense, and more.


To qualify for TET, candidates must be at least 18 years old and achieve a minimum score of 70% on the TET Ability-to-Benefit Exam.
